When I was a kid the school science fair was a bit different than it is today. Back then you could just 'build something' that worked and get good grades. Today they expect kids to actually perform research or an experiment and prove a hypothesis. Needless to say, I was the model builder. I built working models of motors, microscopes, radios, telescopes, and even an atomic bomb (well THAT one wasn't a WORKING model, but it did show how 'Little Boy' was constructed based on the World Book Encyclopedia). On these pages I'll present some plans and photos of some reconstructions of my science fair models. The materials and methods I used to build these models make them true MacGyverisms.
